A child goes on a nature walk one day and picks up a small twig. It’s an award, a reward, and a memory of the journey. It’s moved from place to place, taped on paper, drawn around, rested on a shelf, placed by the bed, loved. Then one day in a rush it’s just a dusty old twig that gets brushed into a bag during a quick clean up, gone, ended, trash.
